I built something for you...
The points game plan I wish I'd had years ago
I’ve been working on something behind the scenes for a while now, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you!
It’s called the Million Mile Map — and it’s the free tool I wish had existed when my family first started earning points.
Here’s the honest truth about travel with points that took me a long time to learn: the order in which you open credit cards matters just as much as which cards you open.
Open the wrong card at the wrong time and you might accidentally lock yourself out of a better one. Wait too long between applications and you leave tens of thousands of points on the table. There’s a strategy to this — and without a game plan, most families never realize they’re leaving a dream trip behind.
That’s exactly what the Million Mile Map solves.
The map walks you and your partner through a step-by-step sequence of card openings across four phases — covering my favorite bank points, Capital One miles, another popular bank points (that I can’t name due to affiliate rules), and more! Work through all four phases and you’ll have earned over 1,000,000 points together. Enough for international business class flights, weeks at luxury hotels, and family trips that would otherwise cost tens of thousands of dollars.
The best part? It’s not complicated. You’re not juggling a spreadsheet or trying to keep a dozen rules in your head. You just follow the steps, check them off as you go, and your progress saves automatically so you can pick up right where you left off.
A few things to know going in:
The map is designed for two players — you and a spouse or partner — because that’s where the real leverage is. Each player opens cards on their own timeline, spacing applications roughly 90 days apart. The phases are intentional but there’s some room to adjust if an elevated welcome offer comes along at the right moment.
This takes time — and that’s actually the point. Working through all four phases will take 12 to 18 months at minimum. Slow and steady really does win the points race!

I’d love to hear what you think, and especially what destination you’re building toward. Hit reply and tell me — I read every single one!
Happy travels,

P.S. Several steps in the map include the option to use a Vacation Pointers affiliate link when a referral isn’t available. Using my links costs you absolutely nothing, but it directly supports the blog and makes free resources like this one possible. Thank you so much in advance if you choose to use them.
